A community shopping center complete with a professional building at 439-449 E. 31st St., Lake Meadows Shopping Center, (312) 225-4288, serves the immediate and surrounding residential and commercial areas, as well as shoppers from other communities as well.

Lake Meadows Shopping Center provides products and services for individuals’ and families’ every need–apparel, shoes, home furnishings and design, electronics, financial services, restaurants and eateries, groceries, entertainment, a variety of business services, fitness, travel, medical, legal, automotive, and more.

Among the apparel shops at Lake Meadows Shopping Center are: Ashley Stewart, Footlocker, Rainbow Kids, Juniors, Rainbow Shops, and City Steppers for men’s and boys clothing.

Restaurants and eateries at Lake Meadows Shopping Center include Scott’s Poppin, a popcorn shop that also features chocolates and other treats; White Castle restaurant; Dunkin’ Donuts/Baskin Robbins; Subway; and Mississippi Rick’s restaurant.

Anchor stores — Jewel Food Store and Walgreen’s — also are situated in the Lake Meadows Shopping Center.

Walgreen’s is the home for Santa, where he will be welcoming children for free photos on Sat., Dec. 13, from 1 to 3 p.m. Photos can be picked up one hour after the photo is taken at the same location.

An array of home furnishings can be selected at Milwaukee Furniture. Other shops within the Lake Meadows Shopping Center are: CarX Muffler for automotive needs, Maxim Nails for manicures and other pampering; Q. Beauty Supply; Radio Shack for electronic products; and Blockbuster.

Various business and financial needs are met at H&R Block, Lake Meadows Currency Exchange, Shore Bank, RealDealz Properties, Staffing Professionals, and The UPS Store and at the various offices located in the Professional Building which include Care Collaborators, Have a Heart for Sickle Cell Ane-mia, Hunter & Hunter, Medical Home Care Providers, Nursefind-ers, and others.
