Despite the time lapsed since the murder of Donna M. Siano in her kitchen, detectives still are trying to find the murderer.

“It is an open and ongoing investigation,” said police Officer David O’Brien of the Chicago Police News Affairs Office. “There are just no details to share at this point,” and detectives “do not want to compromise the investigation.”

Siano, 41, was found stabbed repeatedly in her second-floor apartment at 1106 W. Polk St. Nov. 17. Siano, because she had been an employee of Pompeii Bakery, had been well-known in the community. - Susan S. Stevens
