Dear Editor:

We can’t thank you enough for the article about the 50 years of ministry that Carolyn and I spent as pastor and deaconess at First Immanuel Lutheran Church. The author, Gabija Steponenaite, is a superb reporter. The facts were accurate to the smallest detail. Even more important, she caught the excitement and sheer joy of our life and work here on Chicago’s Near West Side. Not many people understand it. Gabija even reproduced it on paper.
