Tarts, cakes, and cookies are just some of the treats that can be enjoyed at the World Kitchen annual holiday baking class from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sat., Dec. 5. The state-ofthe-art culinary teaching facility is located in the Gallery 37 Center for the Arts, 66 E. Randolph St. Classes cost $30 and require pre-registration. Garfield Park Conservatory, 300 N. Central Park Ave., will hold a spectacular floral display at its Holiday Flower Show, which runs through Sun., Jan. 10. The display features fir trees decorated in holiday lights surrounded by colorful flowers and hundreds of poinsettias. Maxim’s: The Nancy Goldberg International Center, 24 E. The Chicago Architecture Foundation’s Chicago Model City exhibition makes for a great destination during the holidays and winter break. The free exhibit is open to the public and runs through Jan. at 224 S. Michigan Ave. For more information, call (312) 922-3432.
The Paramount Theatre, 213 N. Schuyler Avenue in Kankakee, IL, will host a showing of the holiday classic Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer at 10 a.m. Sat., Dec. 12. Admission is free.
