Three Congressional Districts in this community feature competitive races in the Feb. 2 primary.

1ST DISTRICT

The 1st Congressional District, which forks from Bronzeville to the southwest suburbs, has incumbent U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush being challenged by three opponents: Fred Smith, Harold Bailey, and Joanne Guillemette.

U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski is being challenged by one candidate, Jorge Mujica, in the Democratic primary in the 3rd Congressional District, which begins in Bridgeport and swings across the Southwest Side into the suburbs.

The 7th Congressional District runs from downtown across the West Side to the western suburbs and has three candidates challenging U.S. /Rep.
