Louis F. Villapiano Sr. dies suddenly at age 84
March 5, 2010
Mr. Villapiano was the husband of the late Faith Marie (nee Demarest); father of Louis F. Jr. “Louie” (Sandy) and Florence (David) Mann; son of the late Joseph and Josephine, grandfather of Faith Villapiano and Joseph Mann; brother of Nancy and the late Jim, Sam, John, Tony, Dominic, Theresa, and Catherine; and uncle of many.
Mr. Villapiano was driving home from visiting the son of a long-time friend at Resurrection Hospital when he suffered a fatal heart attack. Earlier in the day, he had attended a Christmas party at the St. Francis Borgia Center for the Deaf. Mr. Villapiano had suffered a loss of hearing at the age of nine after contracting spinal meningitis.
He attended Mitchell School for the Deaf and worked in the construction business for many years before working as a truck driver until his retirement.
“Dad was someone who was always there for you,” said his son, Louie. “He had many friends on Taylor Street who knew they could count on him for anything and everything and he made new friends in Westchester over the past six years as well.”
Services were held at Salerno’s Galewood Chapels. A funeral Mass was said at St. Francis Borgia Church. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside, IL.
