Taylor Street Festa Italiana expands to four days
August 6, 2010

The Near West Side/Little Italy’s fourth annual Taylor Street Festa Italiana will take place August 5 through 8 between Ashland Avenue and Loomis Street. This year’s street festival opens on a Thursday, spanning four days instead of the usual three.

Event organizer Ron Onesti said, “We added an extra day because the event was so popular last year, and we wanted to give the lunch crowd that flocks to Taylor Street a better opportunity” to attend.

Local businesses and organizations will be represented in booths lining Taylor Street, and food, drinks, and shopping will be available.

An impressive live entertainment lineup includes Academy Award-nominated Chazz Palminteri.

The suggested donation for admission is $7, payable on entry.

Festival hours and featured entertainment are: Thursday, Aug. 5, 5 to 10 p.m.; the Bronx Wanderers. Friday, Aug. 6, 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.; the Legendary Drifters. Saturday, Aug. 7, noon to 11 p.m.; Deana Martin and Chazz Palminteri. Sunday, Aug. 8, noon to 10 p.m.; Chicago Rat Pack tribute to Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, and Sammy Davis Jr.; Tony Spavone.
