Lakeside Bank to present two concerts
June 6, 2014

Lakeside Bank will present Vander-Cook College of Music’s Graduate Band at two concerts this summer. Hear the band Tuesday, July 1, at the third annual Chinatown concert in Chinatown Square, 2133 S. China Pl. Or come out Tuesday, July 15, for the eighth annual South Loop Concert in the Park at the Chicago Women’s Park and Gardens behind the Clarke House Museum, 1827 S. Indiana Ave.

Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets, pick a spot to sit, and listen to the sounds of famous marches, show tunes, movie themes, and concert band classics.

Both concerts will feature kids’ activities and giveaways, including a family drum circle demonstration that starts at 6:30 p.m. at both venues, followed by the concert at 7 p.m. During the demonstration, kids can enjoy interactive creative music making with their families using rhythm, song, and dance to build community, foster self-confidence, and have fun. On July 15, enjoy a Toddlers, Tunes, & Turtles program at 5:30 p.m.

On July 1, concert goers in Chinatown can visit Hing Kee Restaurant, 2140 S. Archer Ave., to purchase a dinner special. On July 15, Café Society, 1801 S. Indiana Ave., will offer a special concert picnic dinner that music lovers can bring to the park.
