Developments move forward in South Loop

The Riverline and 21st Street Lofts development projects continue to move forward in the South Loop. With no changes to report from developers 3L Real Estate for the featuring a mix of rental, condominium, townhouse, and multifamily housing. Representatives from the South Loop Neighbors (SLN) have not made plans for additional community meetings concerning the projects. Dennis McClendon, SLN director of planning and development, signaled his group would have no input on future changes to the Riverline development.

“Because this project went through as an amendment to an existing planned development approved in 1983, no public meetings were held,” he noted. Rachel Lenke, spokesperson for 3L Real Estate, said officials would announce updates this summer regarding the 21st Street Lofts residential project, now underway at 57 E. 21st St.
