Little Italy Festa coming to Taylor St. August 16 through 19
August 3, 2018

The Little Italy Festa will feature food, entertainment, and fun for everyone.

The renamed Little Italy Festa, formerly called Festa Italiana, will take place on Taylor Street east of Ashland Avenue Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 16 through 19.

Ron Onesti of Onesti Entertainment is returning to produce the festa, which celebrates the historic Taylor Street-Little Italy community. The four-day extravaganza will offer more than 40 food vendors, more than 30 merchandise vendors, cultural attractions, and seven stages of family entertainment. Suggested donation is $5.

“This is my first year back after a hiatus of several years,” Onesti said. “I couldn’t be more excited.”

Onesti noted that he is “originally from the neighborhood. And being able to celebrate its rich history and foster my Italian heritage at the same time is truly exciting.”

He noted that “there will be many new attractions and entertainment options that will bring this festival to another level.”

“We are excited to bring back Ron Onesti at the helm of our event on Taylor Street,” said Joe Esposito, president of the Little Italy Chicago Neighborhood Association (LICNA). Onesti “really understands what we are trying to accomplish regarding keeping Italian culture alive in Chicago’s Little Italy.”

Onesti Entertainment had produced the festa from 2006 through 2011, after which organizers tapped Vasta and Associates and later Star Events to produce the event. LICNA decided to switch back to Onesti Entertainment, which also produces Festa Pasta Vino in the Heart of Chicago community.
