Longtime Scafuri Bakery and Mategrano’s Restaurant owner Annette Scafuri Mategrano passed away June 12 in Omaha, NE, at age 93. She had moved there 18 months earlier to be near her only child, Patrick, a retired bank official.

Patricia M.Muscato, a life-long resident of the Near West Side community, died on Nov. 24, 2010. She was 67 years old.

Anthony Vito “Hogan” DeLeonardis Jr., a life-long resident of the Near West Side community and a veteran of World War II, died on June 2. He was 90 years old.

Marie Esposito Davino, matriarch of the Davino family business Pompei Bakery at 1531 W. Taylor St. and a longtime community and charity leader, volunteer, and philanthropist, passed away April 27 at age 88.
